“ Decided to go on a whim and this place did not disappoint. Their chicken cheesesteak sandwhich was the best I've ever had!! I don't even care or for chicken cheesesteaks, but would go back just for that. Also loved their rice platter and green sauce! ”

“ As others have noted, if you are familiar with Halal Guys, this is similar. That being said, the food quality at Shah is a cut above. I had the fish which required a short wait, but it was very tasty. Lightly battered and came with two good sized pieces. The falafel I had on a different trip was a bit firm, I didn't enjoy that as much, and wouldn't try that again. I saw but did not try the chicken kefta which looked amazing. They are even open until 3am! Highly recommended any time of day. This spot is in my late night rotation. ”

The sauces are good and complement the rice and meats perfectly. I wish the hot sauce was spicier but that's just personal preference. Service is fast and good. The tables are always clean when I go and it's well lit. The menu is easy to read and understand. ”
“ Among many new cuisines, I have discovered in my time in the DC area, I need to include American Halal Food. At my first job out of college, there was a Halal food cart outside the office. I then discovered burgeoning franchises like The Halal Guys. However, a visit to Shah's brought me back to those classic lamb over rice platters I first enjoyed when I arrived here. I discovered them after returning home from California. They were one of the only places open on a late Sunday night. I got the combo over rice platter, it looked exactly the same as any Halal food except I had the option to add grilled peppers and onions to my dish. That addition took the dish to a whole new level of flavor. Of course, I also made sure I got it with white sauce. I often wonder what's in "white sauce" that makes every Halal platter so good. I've already been back since finding this place- and I'll be back again! It's the comfort of Halal food cart cuisine with the convenience of a brick-and-mortar store. ”
“ This place has become one of my go to spots near the chambliss area in Virginia. I am huge fan of halal brothers, so this place comes very close to their standards. Service has never been disappointing. You can walk straight to the counter and order anything from combo over rice to meat in a wrap and you order is ready within minutes. My favorite is combo over rice with white sauce and three lines of red sauce. Combo is a mix of lamb and chicken. It's so good. Perfect quantity as well. I highly recommend this place for good quality food for decent price. ”
